This new Atmosphere video for “Graffiti” plays with the medium of music videos in a way few of their contemporaries are willing to pursue.

Directed by Jason Goldwatch, the clip finds Slug rapping the track’s poignant verses while being filmed by what appears to be a camera and film stock of yesteryear. Whether this is the result of advanced digital effects to make it seem older or a Stan Brakhage-esqe manipulation of the reels themselves, nothing else in 2018 really looks like “Graffiti.” Nothing else sounds like Atmosphere’s stellar new Mi Vida Local album either, so it’s a perfect match.

Atmosphere also added new tour dates through March for their Mi Vida Local tour, which finds them returning to St. Paul’s Palace Theater – a historic venue they reopened – on December 15 and 16.
