Anyone with even a passing interest in hip-hop recognizes JAY-Z‘s landmark 2001 album The Blueprint as a classic, but now future generations will have it preserved until the end of time as well!

According to AP, Jigga’s masterpiece that spawned “IZZO,” “Takeover” and the Eminem-assisted “Renegades” will be among the recordings selected for permanent archival preservation in the Library of Congress.

The Library of Congress chooses recordings according to their “cultural and historic importance to the American soundscape.” Joining JAY here will be famous speeches from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy, as well as Curtis Mayfield‘s Superfly,  Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September” and (bam bam bam) Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline.”
