In today’s “a series of words you didn’t expect in the same headline news,” veteran actor Alfonso Ribeiro, best known for playing the square “Carlton” on beloved 90s staple The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, is suing the makers of the video game Fortnite for stealing his signature dance, affectionately known by many as “The Carlton.”
Gang, this is 2018.
According to TMZ, Ribeiro is suing Fortnite‘s developer Epic Games for their “Fresh Emote” dance, which his attorney alleges using his intellectual property. The game producers faced a similar lawsuit earlier this year when 2 Milly sued regarding the game’s inclusion of his “Milly Rock.”
Here’s both Ribeiro’s dance and the Fortnite dance. Do you think he has a case?
