Taylor Hawkins, drummer for alt-rock legends The Foo Fighters paid a return visit to Rochester’s Turnaround Arts school, Riverside Central Elementary yesterday to rip a drum solo and mentor students interested in pursuing music.

Hawkins, who is evidently a Vikings fan, had previously visited the arts-based magnet school last year to encourage to fall in love with education through music.

“Music, I’ve heard it said before, is its own gift,” Hawkins said in a speech to the students. “I’ve had people come up to me and say, ‘What is it like to be a rock star?’ or whatever. I’m like, ‘Well, that’s just part of the job.’ In actuality, the music is still the thing that’s most the most enjoyable part and still the passion that drives me to get up and do it every day.”
