Shut Up and Rap, the brainchild of Auggie 5000 and Sophia Eris of the Go 95.3 Morning Show, has become a fixture for local artists to preform and compete each Thursday night.

Shut Up And Rap kicked off at Modist Brewing on July 6th, 2017. Tay The Air Nomad won on the very first competition and later he went on to win Season 2.

Season 1 wrapped up at the Minnesota State Fair at our Go 95.3 booth. The winner was Check2Fresh.

Season 2 was won by Tay The Air Nomad at Modist Brewing!

Season 3 was dominated by Khari Flowz, who won four times in a row and was retired out of the field, but ended up coming up short in the finals against Jayso Creative at Modist Brewing.

We saw Nur-D shine in Season 4, as he won four in a row and was retired out until the finals, where Kaleem The Dream ended up taking crown.

After season 4, Shut Up And Rap got it’s own stage at the biggest one-day rap festival in the country, Soundset! All of the previous season winners and retirees performed a set at Soundset along with Deaundre Dent, Lt. Sunnie, Saibot, Rob II Khul, Enzy Rose and Tylar Berry who all competed for an exhibition of Shut Up And Rap in front of judges Mr. Peter Parker, DJ Bonics and Mega Ran. Lt. Sunnie won on the first SUAR Soundset stage!

Season 5 wrapped up at the MN State Fair with Apollo taking the victory!

Season 6 had us witnessing Solostar and Freegod Sa’Vii crush the competition, each winning four times in a row each. After crushing the competition, both ended up falling in the finals to FruitPunchLoverBoy at Modist Brewing.

Season 7 was the season of Concrete Rose who retired out with four wins in a row! The season champ proved to be Peoplez.

Currently, SUAR is in Season 8 and has officially been deemed Soundset season, where local rappers battle for their chance to perform at Soundset 2019.
