All day Friday, the Muse Event Center in Minneapolis hosts Giant Steps 2017.
Artistic creatives and innovative entrepreneurs will interact to help members of both communities network and learn each other’s skills to further thrive in their environment.
Go 95.3 host Mr. Peter Parker welcomed Susan Campion, who co-founded Giant Steps in 2010 with Kwame “M.anifest” Tsikata, to discuss the purpose of the event and all it has to offer.
Addressing challenges facing both artists and entrepreneurs, and providing advice for the modern music business, Giant Steps is an all-day conference aimed at helping people find success across industries.
There will be nearly 30 speakers at the event, from hip-hop artists to filmmakers, and dancers to visual artists. Among them: slam poet/rapper Kyle “Guante” Tran Myhre, DJ/archivist Kevin Beacham, musician Kraydio, and Joe Horton of No Bird Sing and Mixed Blood Majority.
Chemistry and the potential for partnership will be in the air. In addition to the potential creative fusion, real-world subjects artists struggle with such as taxes, marketing and legal issues will be discussed as well.
