Each weekday in February, Go 95.3 looks back at an important figure in black history.

Today we feature Scarface hip-hop’s original “King of the South” who brought the Texas hip-hop sound around the world. Whether as part of The Geto Boys or his own acclaimed solo efforts, Scarface has been a staple in hip-hop that has always stayed relevant and never went through a “Fall-off” period. Face always made sure the South was represented in hip-hop, later becoming the first ever president of Def Jam South. Scarface continues to released acclaimed albums to this day.
