Today we feature Whodini one of hip-hop’s first mega super-groups. Before RUN-D.M.C. or Beastie Boys were household names, Whodini were the very first rap group to be crossover mainstream superstars. Between their infectiously catchy tracks like “Freaks Come Out At Night” and “Five Minutes of Funk” and the compelling subject matter of “Friends” and “One Love,” members Jalil, Ecstasy and Grandmaster Dee showed hip-hop could be an unstoppable commercial force without compromising the core principles that made it such a phenomenon.
