“Avert your eyes, children!” Or should we say, “Lil Uzi Vert your eyes.”

Just as we as a nation have finished rising up to the #MannequinChallenge here’s a whole new social media necessity. Folks, I give you the Lil Uzi Vert Challenge, or #liluzivertchallenge if you’re nasty.

What started as a fairly innocuous clip of Lil Uzi Vert doing his signature “dancing” during New York Fashion Week a few weeks back has been, as these things tend to go, isolated and repurposed into a pretty funny online challenge. Fans and influencers have been doing their best shoulder-swinging impression all in hope to win V.I.P. tickets to see Vert in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Not unlike what the Mannequin Challenge did for “Black Beatles,” the Lil Uzi Vert Challenge has caused the track’s chosen score, Vert’s own “XO Tour Llif3,” to surge to the top of the streaming charts. Just when you thought Vert’s verse on Migos’ “Bad and Boujee” would be his biggest pop culture contribution this year, we get blessed with this. A couple notable entries are here and here.
