Dressed in his best holiday fur coat, Lil Wayne brought an emotional performance of his Carter V track “Don’t Cry” to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night.
The emotive tone of the performance struck a particular chord when Wayne addressed the live audience to reflect on anyone they’ve lost recently. Conducting the crowd to put two fingers in the air, it made for a very special very vulnerable, intimate moment for a late night television hip-hop performance.
Lil Wayne also recently announced the dates for his fan appreciate tour where the four cities that got the most votes will receive a concert. Minneapolis wasn’t chosen as one of these stops, but given Wayne’s track record of no-showing here, the odds of him coming to the Twin Cities without a tour date is roughly the same.
