JAY-Z’s ‘The Story of O.J.’ gets analyzed by a few famous faces in this new Tidal clip.

Since its release last Thursday, the hip-hop world can’t get enough of JAY-Z’s latest album, 4:44. In the tradition of his Decoded book – in which he broke down the meanings behind his songs – Jay is launching his footnotes series where the songs and videos from 4:44 will be contextualized and discussed by some of the strongest minds in entertainment.

For the first installment, tying in with Jay’s animated video for “The Story of O.J.,” a grainy clip of JAY-Z is intercut with footage of Chris Rock, Mahershala Ali, Will Smith, Michael B. Jordan, and Van Jones offering insight and context as to what it’s like being black in America.

Also notable is the hint that we’re going to be getting a new JAY-Z video each Friday, with more footnotes arriving the following week. Looks like it’s the summer of Jay once again.
