Joey Bada$$ has just released the artwork from his forthcoming album, All-AmeriKKKan Bada$$, and his collaboration with ScHoolboy Q, “Rockabye Baby!”
Both Bada$$ and Q are known for their visceral approach to their lyrics, and for two of their first verses in a post-Trump world, the two sound more charged than ever.
Bada$$’ music has had a more overt political slant since first releasing “Land of the Free” on President Trump’s inauguration day. With ScHoolboy Q’s unflinching snapshots of the struggle being strikingly vivid since the release of last year’s Blank Face LP, their powers combine for one of the most powerful tracks of this year.
“Rockabye Baby” is an absolute banger. With All-AmeriKKKan Bada$$ dropping April 7, the same day as both new Kendrick Lamar and Tech N9ne projects, 2017 looks to already be a banner year for hip-hop.
