Rihanna fans should mark February 20 on their calendar.
On that date, the singer returns to TV, joining the cast of A&E’s Bates Motel for its fifth and final season.
Being a prequel series to the 1960 Hitchcock classic Psycho, today we got our first look at Rihanna taking on Janet Leigh’s original role of “Marion Crane” through the final season’s trailer.
But this isn’t Rihanna’s first acting gig. Looking back on it, she has quite the impressive filmography. Here’s a few of our favorites.
Bring it On: All or Nothing 2006
Rihanna’s acting career started shortly after she became famous, playing herself (the part she was born to play) in the direct-to-DVD sequel Bring it On: All or Nothing. As the judge of a cheerleading contest, Rihanna actually helped the film’s DVD sales to excel over 50 percent past its predecessor.
Rihanna’s first major big screen turn was in Battleship, based on the true board game Battleship.
This is the End 2013
Rihanna returned to cinemas the following year, satirizing herself in the celebrity armageddon send-up This is the End.
There was also a very quick, very fun Rihanna cameo as “Moon Goddess” in the 2014 remake of Annie. We’d say more, but don’t want to spoil the Moon Goddess’ fun.
At this point, Rihanna had done a comedy, a family, a teen and an action picture, why not enter the world of animation? Voicing Tip, Rihanna lead the fun cast of Dreamworks’ Home.
