What is it about September that has everyone in hip-hop dissing everyone?
This morning started with Snoop Dogg sharing a few of his political opinions during a radio interview, when suddenly the Doggfather brought Kanye into it. During a tangent, the “Murder Was the Case” rapper added “Kanye too. Don’t forget about him too… Throw him in the bag, too ’cause he right there with them.” Dogg fired off a few more expletives, showing no love for Yeezy. Surprisingly, as of press time Kanye has yet to respond.
Meanwhile, in Detroit, Bizarre has thrown his shower-cap into the trenches of the Eminem–MGK war by coming at Jay Electronica and Joe Budden. Saving his barbs for the final third of his typically-Bizarre track “Love Tap,” the D12 member accuses Electronica of selling a tape to hip-hop publication The Source and questions the validity of Budden’s sobriety. Neither Budden nor Electronica have responded as of press time, with the former preoccupied with his podcast and the latter recently terminating his social media, making the most optimistic of us hope this means we’ll finally get that album.
Finally, Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino is suing former label Glassnote Records for royalties owed from his earlier releases prior to signing with his current home RCA Records.
