Sunday night is the biggest evening in music videos as the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards goes down at The Forum in Inglewood, California. A plethora of Go artists are both nominated and set to perform, so you can expect some familiar faces and a fun time.
The pre-show at 6 p.m. CST is set to feature Go Fest headliner Bleachers, Go Show alumni Khalid and Cardi B. Once they get us hot and ready, the big show will include performances from Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran, Gucci Mane, Lorde, The Weeknd, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Logic, Khalid, Post Malone, Kyle and more.
The expected big winner is Kendrick Lamar, whose “HUMBLE,” racked up eight nods including Video of the Year and Best Direction.
Challenging it in the Best Hip-hop category will be Big Sean‘s “Bounce Back,” Chance the Rapper‘s “Same Drugs,” D.R.A.M. and Lil Yachty‘s “Broccoli,” Migos and Lil Uzi Vert‘s “Bad & Boujee,” and DJ Khaled‘s “I’m The One.”
There’s also the artists who’ve landed their first nominations ever, from beloved newcomers SZA and Young M.A. to veterans finally getting their due in Run the Jewels and DJ Shadow. Plus, with nominations for A Tribe Called Quest, Kyle, Young Thug and Future all in the mix, it’s a cross-generation celebration of hip-hop.
