Last night Big Sean and Metro Boomin celebrated the surprise release of last weekend’s Double or Nothing album with not just one, but two performances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Rocking both “Who’s Stopping Me” and “Savage Time” – get it? *Two* songs because it’s *Double* or Nothing! Anyways, Sean let his charisma fly while Metro Boomin remained the focused genius at work.
Dim lights made for an intimate nationally televised performance. Sean’s attire and mannerisms were much more conservative that we’re used to seeing. Perhaps he’s trying to draw attention to his lyrics – which he looks overwhelmingly proud of – or perhaps keeping things low-key is the only way for young Metro to trust you.
Double or Nothing is available now on streaming sites. Our own Go DJs weighed in on the record with some wildly differing perspectives. Check out our Double or Nothing thoughts here.
– For a bit of that Manhattan magic, SZA brought out Chance the Rapper for “Child’s Play” in New York City.
– Year of the Migos continues with the group enlisting a Joe Budden lookalike for their next video.
– Tyler, the Creator‘s Tiny Desk performance is here, and it is delightful.
– Finally, Mary J. Blige was pretty stunned with her Golden Globes nomination.
