Almost a year after its release, JAY-Z‘s 4:44 continues to inspire and bring in the accolades. Today that list of honors grows longer with the release of the 2018 Webby Award winners. Celebrating “The Best of the Internet” for 22 years, today the list of honorees include Jay, acknowledging his music video for “Smile” as the Best Individual Performance (Film & Video).

Directed by Miles Jay and featuring BET Teen Summit alumnus Guy Lockard, “Smile” gave visuals to Jay’s track, detailing his Mother’s life, from raising him in 1970s New York through her coming out.

The Webbys go down on May 14 and are set to be hosted by Late Night with Seth Meyers writer Amber Ruffin. JAY-Z brings “Smile” and his wife Beyoncé to U.S. Bank Stadium on Wednesday, August 8.

– Big news for J. Cole, his new album K.O.D. is not only set to debut at #1, but it’s also the 2018’s single biggest debut.

– Looks like Madonna has lost her lawsuit regarding a jailhouse letter she received from Tupac Shakur.

– Harlem’s A$AP Rocky continues to cautiously dip his foot into his next album with his new video “Herojuana Blunts.”

– In cosmetic news, Rick Ross is launching a nine-piece male grooming line fittingly titled RICH.
