Nothing makes us happier than seeing Khalid perform, except for perhaps new Khalid music, and with last night’s tremendous new arrangement of “Love Lies,” his duet with Normani from the Love, Simon soundtrack, it’s like hearing an entirely new song.
Given all the hoopla surrounding Monday’s Cardi B co-hosted episode of The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, it seems the show’s hip-hop friendly nature is continuing to drop us gems. Khalid and Normani looked like absolute stars on that stage, from their vocals to their movements to their emotive elements, the entire affair was tremendous.
Love, Simon is still in theaters, as is Black Panther, both of which have reignited the medium of film soundtracks. While we know correlation doesn’t necessarily equal causation, there’s something to be said that the films and the music from and inspired by them both still have such a long-lasting media presence.
