If you can’t get enough of the every-award winning Broadway smash Hamilton – great news! There’s more on on the way in the form of Hamildrops, a spiritual-sequel mixtape from creator Lin-Manuel Miranda.

The new release will feature songs either inspired by the musical’s original tunes, or star-studded fleshed-out versions of tracks Miranda wrote that didn’t quite make it to the stage. Today we got quite the taste of Hamildrops thanks to Miranda’s friends Nas, Dave East and Aloe Blacc on “Wrote My Way Out.”

Channeling the musical heavily, both in tone and reference, the video captures the very New York element that drives the musical’s initial do-it-yourself urgency. From older native New Yorkers to the young generation inspired by the artists’ words, the stylistic black-and-white clip brings the “Wrote My Way Out’s” colorful energy to life.

“Wrote My Way Out” is the second Hamildrop that Miranda’s delivered. The first, The Decemberists’ “Ben Franklin Song,” strays a touch from the rest of the musical’s hip-hop theme. Prospective Hamilton fans in Minnesota won’t have to wait too much longer to catch the original musical on stage, it opens October 23 at the Orpheum Theater.

– It might be early, but we’re just about ready to call the best live tour of 2018 already, as Kendrick Lamar and SZA are set to headline Top Dawg Entertainment‘s The Championship Tour.

– Touring with Lana Del Ray hasn’t stopped Jhene Aiko from dropping a new track with Rae Sremmurd in their “Sativia (Remix.)

– You life will get flipped, turned upside-down at this very dark Saturday Night Live parody of The Fresh Prince of Bel Aire featuring Wu-Tang Clan‘s Method Man.

– Minnesota rap royalty reunites as Mink – the duo of Musab and Ink Well, have a new Slug-assisted video in “Tight Rope.”
