This holiday season, when you get N.E.R.D., you get Future at the same damn time!
With news of an impending N.E.R.D. album (their first in a decade), looming ever-closer, some fans were skeptical of the first Rihanna-assisted single “Lemon.” A bit of a stylistic departure, the song seemed to indicate that No_one Ever Really Dies might not retain that classic N.E.R.D. sound. All those questions can be put to rest with the group’s new track with Future, “1000.”
A multi-genre upright bounce met with a ferocious beat-change: This is the type of record that only N.E.R.D. could make. Future sounds happy too, breaking from the flood of depression soaking his last few projects. When Future is happy, we’re happy.
The track first premiered during N.E.R.D.’s performance/installation/seminar at ComplexCon, but hearing it now in its sonic glory captures it all perfectly. No_one Ever Really Dies drops December 15 and will also feature Andre 3000.
