As reported by his label Republic Records, rapper/singer Post Malone currently holds the position of the Most Streamed Artist in the World. Thanks to his latest single “rockstar” with 21 Savage, which pulled 49.7 million streams in the last week alone, Post sits atop the streaming charts for the second week in a row, putting him at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
When it comes to streaming right now, Post’s only competition is himself. Not only is “rockstar” #1 on Spotify and Apple Music, but right behind at #2 is Post’s other recent single “I Fall Apart.” Worldwide, “rockstar” is pulling over 6 million streams a day. It’s interesting to look at Post’s unique targeting of streaming services, his current Stoney Tour had its ticket presale as a Spotify exclusive.
While “I Fall Apart” comes from Post’s last album Stoney, “rockstar” will be found on his forthcoming Beerbongs & Bentleys. While the new album has no official release date yet, Post hasn’t retracted plans to have it in our ears before the end of the year.
