Are you still in-love with T-Pain? After reminding us that his songs have soundtracked our lives earlier this month at Zombie Pub Crawl, the Painmaster popped up this week on MTV‘s rebooted TRL for a medley of his hits from the height of autotune. What you may find surprising is that T-Pain left the bells and whistles of the “robot voice” back at the studio for an amazing unplugged performance.
While the new TRL is still trying to find its voice and didn’t include any actual counting down of anything, you can count on T-Pain to make his medley of hits downright moving. “I’m ‘n’ Luv (With a Stripper)” and “Bartender” have been changed into outright ballads that wouldn’t sound out of place a few blocks down at an actual Broadway show.
Despite audience’s struggles to sway their light-up cell phones on beat, T-Pain and his trademark reflective sunglasses remain thoroughly lit. If any unfortunate soul in your life ever misguidedly labeled T-Pain as some sort of gimmick, you have this trump card to send them immediately.
