As you’ve probably heard on Go 95.3, tomorrow is the big day when Wiz Khalifa drops his mixtape Laugh Now, Fly Later, his first full-length project in two years. But if you just can’t wait an additional 24 hours, here’s a taste with our first sample of the project, “Letterman.”
While Wiz has a reputation for being on the more relaxed, chill side of the spectrum, “Letterman” is as hyper-kinetic as Wiz gets. Following a staccato melodic rhyme pattern, Wiz does some outstanding syllable stacking over infectious production.
I don’t think anyone expected Wiz to come at us like that this early in Laugh Now, Fly Later‘s promotion, but now we’re even more hyped for its release. Here’s hoping “Letterman” becomes one of the tracks selected for the inevitable future television performances.
– Apparently DRAM‘s latest collaborator is… rock legend Neil Young?
– It’s ladies’ night as Remy Ma and Lil Kim unite for “Wake Me Up.”
– At long last, we finally have a release date, cover art and tracklisting for G-Eazy‘s The Beautiful and The Damned.
– We get it from all angles on Saba‘s brand new track “360.”
