Listen, we’re aware that we might have a bit of a crush on the Scottish indie-pop trio CHVRCHES at the moment. We just can’t seem to stop talking about them, whether it’s on our brand new Out of Order Top 9 @ 9 show, or just on this silly little blog, but to be fair to us, the band has been releasing killer new singles at a a dizzying tempo, and their latest might be our favorite yet.
Slated to appear on the bands yet-to-be-released 3rd album Love is Dead, “Miracle” grabs the salt shaker of EDM-flavoring that CHVRCHES have been carefully spicing their new material with, unscrews the lid, and dumps the whole thing in. There’s an honest-to-goodness bass drop in here, and it’s glorious y’all.
As if we weren’t swooning enough from the band’s constant onslaught of new music, they also made headlines yesterday by promising to help fund Girls Rock Glasgow, a School of Rock based in the band’s home that focuses on turning girls ages 8-16 into the rock’n’roll heroes of tomorrow. The organization was in dire financial straits and might have been forced to close its doors, had CHVRCHES not stepped in.
