After debuting the first single from their untiled, forthcoming third album last week, Bastille has dropped a cinematic new video to accompany the track and OH MY GOD DAN SMITH SHAVED HIS F#@$ING HEAD!!!!!!
Okay, breathe folks. Breathe. Now, a moment of silence for Dan’s amazing pompadour. Let us reminisce together:
Rest in peace, beautiful quiff.
Now that we’ve mourned together and shared in this collective loss, it’s time to talk about the new music video. Composed of a series of surreal vignettes of urban nightlife, the video for “Quarter Past Midnight” winks and nods at a whole manner of influential films, from Fight Club to Rocky Horror.
“We made the video over a couple of days and nights in Paris with our incredibly talented friend, and long-time collaborator, Austin Peters,” Dan Smith said in a statement. “It’s is a nod towards some of our favourite films and directors. Like the album as a whole, it’s a surreal journey through euphoric highs and lows of a night, and all that comes with it: the escapism, warped realities, and unclear memories.”
While Smith went on to say that the new album is finished, there was no mention of a release date or title as of yet.
Warning: The following video contains the destruction of a beautiful haircut and should be viewed with caution.
– Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters still struggles to listen to the that his late friend Kurt Cobain made in Nirvana.
