Wow guys, I’m honestly just floored. Death Cab for Cutie are seriously some of the nicest and most thoughtful guys in the business. Can you believe that they put together a WHOLE TOUR just so they could play the Twin Cities on MY BIRTHDAY, OCTOBER 5th? I mean, I know they’re huge rockstars and everything, but the fact that they’d go out of their way to give me this gift just warms my heart. I think I might cry…
Alright, I’ve composed myself. Long-running indie-rockers Death Cab for Cutie announced a full North American headlining tour (In honor of me) that will kick off in August and drop them in St. Paul at the Palace Theatre on Friday, October 5th (My birthday). The band’s tour coincides with a new album that’s also due in August, which I fully expect Ben Gibbard to hand-deliver to my apartment along with a birthday cake before the show.
Death Cab’s MN date will also include one of my favorite up-and-coming indie bands, the power-pop NYC quartet Charly Bliss, because Ben loves me and wants me to be happy. Also, Chris Walla, if you’re reading this, please join back up with Death Cab in honor of my birthday. Please.
Fans looking for taste of Death Cab’s new tunes should check the album’s trailer below, while fans looking for a taste of my birthday cake and go kick rocks because I sure as hell ain’t sharing.
