EDM-pop superstars Diplo and Mark Ronson have recently started combining their considerable powers as Silk City, and the newly-minted duo already have a potential crossover smash on their hands with their new single “Electricity”, featuring vocals from UK alt-pop up-and-comer Dua Lipa.

In a nice against-the-grain decision in a genre full of music videos that look like Sci-Fi movie trailers, the loose story of “Electricity” is set in the NYC blackouts of the late ’70s. EDM’s roots lie in the Disco scene that was flourishing in NYC during that era, so the house party that Dua Lipa throws actually has some historical merit. Diplo and Mark Ronson: Gentlemen and scholars.
