While the dudes from Rise AgainstAlkaline Trio and Lawrence Arms might beg to differ, it’s tough to argue that Fall Out Boy have had the biggest role of any single band in putting Chicago pop-punk on the map. As a love letter to the city they got their start in, the hitmaking band released a new EP called Lake Effect Kid and announced a new pop-up art space/gift shop in advance of their hometown show at Wrigley Field on 9/8.

Lake Effect Kid‘s lead single “City in a Garden” puts the band’s Windy City love front and center in the lyrics, but the title track is actually a throwback to one of Fall Out Boy’s experiments with hip-hop from an earlier mixtape.

If you’re headed down to Chicago for the band’s reunion show, you can check out interactive musical art pieces and exclusive merch and the band’s M A N I A Experience pop-up.
