Indie-folk outfit The Head and The Heart brightened all of our days this afternoon with the surprise release of a brand new song called “Missed Connection” and details about their 4th LP Living Mirage, which will arrive on May 17th.

According to a press release from the band, the lyrics to “Missed Connection” began as a love song to a specific person but quickly expanded to stand as a metaphor for the band’s fateful first meeting at a Seattle open mic 10 years ago.

“Missed Connection” also features an updated sound that shows a bit of influence from the hip-hop and pop artists that the band had been listening to during the making if Living Mirage.
