When Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons put together the inaugural LoveLoud music festival in 2017, he probably had no idea how much of a positive impact the LGBTQIA+ festival would have. Now, after an HBO Documentary and mountains of feedback from his fans, the singer is partnering up with an LGBTQ icon for LoveLoud 2018.
Tegan Quinn of Canadian indie-rock hitmakers Tegan & Sara is collaborating with Reynolds to help curate LoveLoud 2018’s lineup and guide the festival in its second year. Quinn’s advocacy organization, The Tegan and Sara Foundation, will be one of the beneficiaries of the proceeds raised by LoveLoud, as well.
Reynolds and Quinn spoke with Billboard magazine about kicking off their newly formed partnership on Twitter, their efforts to improve upon LoveLoud 2018, the state of LGBTQIA+ music in 2018, and much more.
