Billboard has enlivened our Tuesday afternoon by dropping their complete list of nominations for their 2018 Billboard Awards, which roll out during the chart magazine’s May 20th telecast on NBC. Several of Go 96.3’s favorite artists a racking up nominations all over the place, including Imagine Dragons, Coldplay, Portugal. the Man and twenty one pilots.
Leading the pack, to nobody’s surprise, are Las Vegas worldbeaters Imagine Dragons, who obliterated the field with a whopping 10 nominations across 8 separate categories, including “Top Duo/Group,” “Top Rock Artist,” “Top Rock Album,” and “Top Rock Song.” Also making headway in those categories were Portugal. the Man, Linkin Park and Panic! at the Disco. After taking home a boatload of hardware during last year’s ceremony, twenty one pilots only scored single nomination this time out.
Coldplay, in a savvy vet move, managed to crash the party in the EDM categories via their collaboration with Chainsmokers while still enjoying the nominations that favor more established artists like “Top Touring Artist” and “Top Rock Tour.”
