Garage rock guitar hero Jack White continued to showcase his comedy chops on Friday night with an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert by vamping with the titular host on the little-known second verses to classic TV jingles.

Things started innocuous enough, with jokes about blues legend Robert Johnson writing the Pizza Bagels jingle, and fairly tame run through the “Stuck on Bandaids” song. However, this is Jack White we’re talking about, so inevitably things got dark in a hurry when the rocker and Colbert started riffing on the extra verses to the Folger’s coffee jingle. Somehow, severed heads and alcoholism got involved. It was awesome.

White and his band also showcased Boarding House Reach oddity “Ice Station Zebra” aka ‘The song where Jack White proves that he’s a competent rapper,’ with a bit of psychedelic camerawork from CBS.

– Is it cheating to preview a band’s new material via YouTube clips from live shows? If so, call us cheaters, cuz we can’t get enough of this new Florence + The Machine!
