Over the weekend, British folk rockers Mumford and Sons showcased their own spin on an iconic cover song at a show in Cleveland. In a nod to native Ohioans Nine Inch Nails, Mumford and Sons covered “Hurt” on Saturday night.

Arguably, the best known version of “Hurt” doesn’t come from Nine Inch Nails, but from The Man in Black himself: Johnny Cash, who famously covered the song during some of his last days on earth for America IV: The Man Comes Around. Mumford’s vunerable, mellow treatment of the song echoes Cash’s version just as much as the original.
