What a year it’s been for De La Soul. Simply releasing their long-awaited album And the Anonymous Nobody in August would have been enough, but this year’s also seen them land the #1 rap album in the country, a performance on The Tonight Show and, this week, a GRAMMY nomination for rap album of the year. The Long Island trio is closing out 2016 with a new video for “Memory Of…(US).”

With a delightfully lo-fi into aesthetic, the clip begins with Pete Rock introducing the video in the style of Masterpiece Theatre. We got a kick out of watching the usually serious Pete Rock playing deadpan and having fun with the clip. From there, we get a some warm imagery that matches the track well.

Fans still wanting more De La, or maybe newer listeners who want the history on the group, can also check out the Mass Appeal documentary De La Soul is Not Dead which is now available in its entirety on YouTube.
