Woodstock 50 has been officially cancelled.
No, it’s not because problematic Woodstock 50 tweets were re-discovered.
No, millennials didn’t “kill” Woodstock either.
Today, the festival’s funders Dentsu Aegis Network‘s representatives told Billboard: “…we don’t believe the production of the festival can be executed as an event worthy of the Woodstock Brand name while also ensuring the health and safety of the artists, partners and attendees.”
Speculation of Woodstock 50’s cancellation began last week when the deadline to being selling tickets to the festival was missed. Originally slated to be headlined by Imagine Dragons, JAY-Z, The Killers and Dead and Co, we’re confident they’ll all land on their feet.
